Smooth Climber

You should see the value in giving this Duke guy's offer a shot. If he's even remotely close to telling the truth, he ain't serving under the lich out of love and devotion (at least not to the lich), and having him close means you can try and turn him your side opinion-wise. 'nother magic-user on the team certainly couldn't hurt, even if he'll be a 'hostage' that can't help you with Lokrim. Still, a little caution goes a long way, so set someone to watch him when you ain't. Don't want him wandering off easy as he pleases.
Maybe do it like this:
-He's in, not because of the freaky eye thing, but because he said he could help. You need help, and in exchange, you won't kill him or force him to betray Lokrim. Best deal you can make him.
-Of course, you can't just trust 'im, so he'll be kept under a watch when you ain't lookin' at him. He'll have to prove himself. Telling us stuff that doesn't directly oppose Lokrim, should be good, right?
-For example, does he have the cure for the lamia leader? Or does he know how long she'll be out? You can't stay 'round here forever.
-Does he know why the lamias were being hunted? You already know the gnolls are 'controlled' by the necroes, so it isn't exactly hard to put two and two together that the lamias might've been a choice target as well.
-Speaking of which, you might want to inform the lady lamias about that particular detail. You're the only gnolls who has been talkin' to them and not trying to kill 'em, and it might be because, hell, you both have a more common enemy than you thought. Particularly if you started getting hunted at roughly the same time, give or take a month or two. According to the vampire you fought, all the other clans are currently under the necromancer's thumb.
-Once that's done, say you want to talk to their leader and give the whole cooperate thing a shot again, now that they ain't got Duke in place to trick 'em.
You do need help, and getting in those lamias' good graces through Duke is one way. What with the whole 'not killing them' thing, you have the option.
