Standing up, you hold out a hand, helping Nehm up as she looks away nervously. She's clearly embarrassed and still feeling guilty for her accidental actions, your close proximity not helping her feel any better.
Before she could thank you, you spoke...
"You know, I think this confusing situation has got us off on the wrong foot... How about you tell me about yourself? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this place, and what you know about the Timelines."
You smile innocently, luring her deeper into your emotional traps.
Thinking she still needs to make it up to you, she nods, agreeing to tell you what you want
"Y-Yes, it's only fair..." she starts, "M-My name is Nehm, I'm a non-binary robot s-still trying to figure myself out-- I-I lost my memories a while back, but that's a whole 'nother story ahaha..." she rubs the back of her head, "I go by she/her a lot though since... It's nice, but I'm still unsure..."
Looking over to you, her face flushes red, "B-But I'm sure you'd rather not listen to me yap about myself and my own issues ahaah,, sorry. T-Timelines are varied in many ways, and there's no real way to tell how powerful a particular Timeline is without knowing Its gems history.. B-Basically, they're copycat stones, you channel your magic into them and they double your power, but let the next user use your magic too with no extra mana cost. Eventually, over the course of countless universes - if the gem managed to survive its own world's heat-death - the gems become so powerful they're akin to gods... So, depending on who had used it in the past is how powerful the gem is. Color also matters! As new users picked up the gems, a color-code was naturally formed for wielders of similar magic, anyone who was already naturally gifted in matter manipulation would find using a gem with the same abilities very easy, but a gem with a whole new power type incredibly hard, so... They kept getting stronger in their specific field. The colors are Cyan, Blue, Purple, Red, and Yellow. There's no green, and there's no known reason why... There's a Timeline myth that the green energy is some sort of paradox due to it's control over time and... S-Shit sorry I'm rambling again... Y-You look to have a... Cyan gem? They're capable of reshaping entire universes actually, beyond powerful in matter manipulation but give up what little mind and energy manipulation a Blue gem has, t-think of it as a color wheel, as long as one color isn't the exact opposite of another, it will have trace amounts of another colors power. Unfortunately, you won't be able to uhm... Make things hotter or colder, or give people visions, or use telepathy... B-But you're practically limitless with manipulation of the physical world."
She takes a deep breath, trying to clear her head, but something is slowing her down... She's overheating slightly, attributing it to her flustered state moments ago, not realising you had begun vibrating the particles inside her cooling system to heat it up (A sneaky trick to generate heat since only red gems can manipulate energy in such a way)
"The lab... Mr Carter's lab, the forefront of technological progress in our society, Mr Carter just showed up one day, an inorganic being with an understanding of robotics far ahead of his time. Over the years, he built this lab to create robots and eventually began to create organic experiments too-- My good friend Vixen is a good example, an interdimensional species called a Vacan, with artificial growth limiters placed on her body so she wouldn't have unlimited height potential and tail growth, the result being a short Vacan with meat on its bones! She was quite the sight to even the Timelines, but now she sits in her room all day and watches anime" Nehm giggles, her fear fading as she-- oop, nevermind, she opens her eyes and is immediately reminded of your proximity, her face flushing red as she looks away.
"S-Sorry, I yap a lot..."
