Zeekar

Zeekar (Born June 27, 1986) Is an an American hobby artist and writer. Professionally, he is a student, majoring in programming. His other interests, however, are diverse - with psychology taking a leading role. He often collaborates with the artist/writer Kamon in his works, illustrating and/or writing alongside her. He originally arrived at /quest/ in an attempt to follow Ruby Quest and upon arrival quickly grew a fondness for the quest medium.

Before /quest/, Zeekar had not notably published any of his own works (to the internet or otherwise) and created for his own satisfaction only. In hopes of sharing his universe with others, he created the Marmalade Workshop, a life-long work-in-progress for him. His first published work in this format was Dragon Dance, a collaboration with Kamon.

His stories and art share a strong fascination with the psychology of his characters - creating characters that respond to different (traumatic or otherwise) events in a natural way. His stories tend to focus especially on putting his readers in the shoes of a very strong and/or weak individual who must overcome the challenges of their lives. His themes tend towards dark and nightmarish, but also explore feelings of awe and concepts of love. His stories often have no antagonist at all (if the main character himself isn't the antagonist), focusing instead on slices of a character's bizarre life or conflicts that require discovery to be resolved (i.e., detective story archetype).
