TGMUD is a text-based action/adventure game. It is currently developed by quest authors and the project is headed by Squeegy AKA John_Freeman. The areas are constantly expanding, new quests, enemies, and things to do are added daily, hourly, even minutely. An optional tutorial is fairly fleshed out, going through the basics of playing before releasing the player on the world with a few cautionary warnings.
The chat channel is #tgmud on irc.rizon.net. The game IP is tgmud.servegame.com, and the PORT is 23. If you don't have a client, try MUSHclient.
Areas
Area currently open to exploration:
- AlienQuest
- Catarnia
- Sorpigal
- Jiflobrildus
The different areas are connected either by land or by the Realm of Infinite Psyche, which has five rooms. The downstairs is a hub of portals (cracks in reality) that lead to different places which can be viewed with the 'look' command. The upstairs is a lounge, including a respawning torch chest, a leather couch (for fucking resting your tired limbs), and water cooler of infinite psyche. It is a good meeting and regrouping area for players. You can also buy training sessions and practice points from the shopkeep in the Realm, using quest points gained through completion of quests.
Playable Races
Races currently playable:
- Clockwork
- Cutebold
- Dorf
- Elf
- Gnoll
- Goblin
- Gour
- Halfbold
- Halfling
- Human
- Lohrke
- Nedynvor
- Ophian
- Orc
- Ratman
- Sergal
- Talyxian
- Tonberry
- Volto
- Wolperting
Each have different bonuses and penalties that make them partial to one class or another. Races are added on the whims of the developers.
Stats
There are six stats:
- Strength - Impacts accuracy and aim, may impact damage.
- Intelligence - Memory and constitution, ability to gain greater proficiency in skills and spells.
- Dexterity - Agility and the ability to dodge blows.
- Wisdom - Intuition, wit, and the ability to gain more practice/training points per level.
- Constitution - Health, stamina, hit points.
- Charisma - Grace, charm, lowered prices, and higher sell rates.
Unfortunately, these are fairly rooted into the game and would be difficult to change into the DorfQuest five, or rename to better reflect their purpose.
